In April 2020, Outside Ideas began work on the Regency Road to Pym Street project for the R2P Alliance.

The R2P project developed a six-lane, 1.8-kilometre non-stop motorway, forming part of the future 78-kilometre North-South Corridor. As part of our structural concrete contract, Outside Ideas completed the design and construction of the formwork, structural foundations, and concrete support elements for the pedestrian bridge, external ramps, and their surrounds. We also completed all of the foundations for the precast concrete barriers that form part of the approach ramps to the bridge. This project was successfully delivered four months earlier than scheduled.

With construction taking place on one of the busiest roads in South Australia, this project was subject to strict deadlines in order to adhere to traffic control plans and lane switches to keep the road congestion to a minimum. The exposed aggregate for the suspended curved incline ramp was poured in an innovative way, by starting from the top and working our way down, to control the concrete runoff and comply with the environmental management plan. Outside Ideas created laser cut formwork for the pedestrian ramps to create a puzzle-like installation that minimised installation times and created a unique feature that remains visible from underneath the structure following completion.

Outside Ideas delivered all of our contract works in-house to eliminate outsourcing and guarantee a perfectly executed, visually appealing end product that adheres to all regulations.
