Over a 12-month period from October 2024 – October 2025, Outside Ideas delivered the landscaping to the 70 internal courtyards plus external works at the $1.1 billion Frankston Hospital redevelopment for Lendlease.
The scope included garden beds, custom and proprietary furniture, steel works (handrails and balustrades), pergolas, exercise equipment, sports court surfacing and line marking, pots, irrigation, and planting.
Building meaningful relationships in the social procurement space is a key focus for Outside Ideas. The social impact team at Lendlease has been a great support to our business, which helps us build key relationships with organisations like Marriott Support Services, a leading social enterprise that provides meaningful employment for people with intellectual disabilities. For the Frankston Hospital project, Marriott’s workforce is supporting Outside Ideas through the on-ground installation of over 32,000 plants. Cultivating inclusive workforce participation, Marriott’s involvement brings real value to this project beyond the work itself.
Outside Ideas delivered this project within budget through good procurement and efficiencies, as well as putting forward some key value management options (for example, changing soil types to a blowable mix to save on labour time and costs). The Outside Ideas project team set up weekly meetings with Lendlease targeting a top five hit list of actionable items to keep the project on track, enabling us to resource accordingly to suit priorities and those areas open to us at any given time.
