Outside Ideas was awarded the $3.6 million landscaping contract for North Melbourne Primary School by Hansen Yuncken.
The scope included landscaping across three levels of the school campus, featuring a playground, an outdoor stage, tiered seating and space for events and performances as well as a competition grade gym for basketball and netball which overlooks the city. The works also included a significant concrete package comprising of walls, seats, stairs, and pavements.
A new kindergarten for three- and four-year-old children was built on level five of the school campus. Outside Ideas modified the design to value engineer the rubber mounds by using polystyrene void filler and shotcrete which have formed a feature of the play spaces. Work was completed on site in May 2023.
