From November 2023 to June 2024, Outside Ideas delivered the first stage of landscaping works for Lendlease near their head office within the high profile Melbourne Quarter precinct on Collins Street in the CBD.
The scope of the first stage included detailed in situ concrete walls, bespoke furniture, detailed demolition of existing concrete elements, streetscape works, steel cladding to walls and planters, GRC planters, and handrails.
This initial stage was delivered across multiple levels over the three buildings within the Melbourne Quarter precinct, including Sky Park on Level 2 of the Super Retail building, and Melbourne Quarter Square on the ground level. Outside Ideas also delivered landscaping works along Market Place Lane, and to Level 6 of the M1 building. The tight access on this site presented some challenges, as well as limitations on deliveries that had to be carefully managed to prevent any delays to our program.
To ensure a smooth execution of every element of this project from start to finish, Outside Ideas undertook an extensive documentation review, and detailed planning and implementation of both procurement and logistics well ahead of schedule.
On the back of the successful delivery of the first stage, Outside Ideas was again selected by Lendlease to deliver the next stage of Melbourne Quarter, R2. MQR2 was delivered from September 2025 to March 2026. The scope of MQR2 was very similar to that of the first stage, across a reduced footprint. MQR2 was delivered in the main entry area, as well as some streetscape works.
This project was a good opportunity for Outside Ideas to demonstrate our capabilities in delivering complex projects on busy city sites.
