In May 2022 Outside Ideas was engaged by Alexandrina Council for the delivery of Stages 3, 4,5 & 7 of the Strathalbyn Streetscape Revitalisation Project.

The scope included upgrades to the existing public lighting and drainage infrastructure, reconstruction of intersections including kerbing, granular pavements and surface treatments, reconstruction of footpaths and formation of garden beds inclusive of automated irrigation systems, and refurbishment of the Sunter Street bridge over Angas River.

Due to the widespread footprint of the project throughout the town of Strathalbyn, Outside Ideas was required to work closely with Council and key stakeholders to develop a staged delivery approach that minimised disruption to the community. Our methodology ensured uninterrupted access to individual businesses and residences and that localised road closures were kept to the shortest duration possible.

Extensive investigation was undertaken prior to site works commencing to locate and depth existing underground services and verify constructability of the proposed design. This allowed Outside Ideas to identify potential issues early and work with the client to develop solutions early to prevent possible delays to the project.
