After a 6-month ECI process, Outside Ideas was awarded the first stage of the Transforming Jetty Road project, City Zone, in November 2024.
Throughout the ECI phase, Outside Ideas was heavily involved in design development alongside the Design Team and recommended several key value management solutions that optimised both cost efficiency and project outcomes.
After the successful delivery of the City Zone, Council awarded Outside Ideas the Transition and Coastal Zone stages. The three stages had a total project budget of $40 million and involved a complete reconstruction of the high-profile Jetty Road streetscape and roadway from Brighton Road all the way to Moseley Street and into Colley Terrace.
The scope included demolition of the existing footpaths and associated infrastructure, electrical works, new trench drains, concrete slabs, and mortar laid granite paving consisting of five different paving types. The key considerations of this project were stakeholder management to prevent disruption to local businesses, and rail safety management whilst working around the live tram corridor.
Through careful staging, our project team successfully maintained pedestrian and business access at all times throughout the construction phase. Significant collaboration with Council and Torrens Connect was required to negotiate the night works component and work within an ALBF arrangement.
