Outside Ideas continues our strong working partnership with Walker Corporation, delivering multiple stages of work throughout the Riverlea development to assist with the development of this dynamic community precinct.
Outside Ideas was awarded and delivered Riverlea Stage 2 Park & Boulevard in 2022. The development included the first playspace and park of this newly created community, as well as the continuation of the landscaping to the main boulevard. The project set a precedent for the quality of finishes expected throughout the development and future recreation spaces, providing potential residents a preview of the difference in quality that our client was going to provide for this new community. The park incorporates an acrylic coated basketball court, furniture, play equipment, irrigated instant turf, nature play, community plaza, and shade sails.
While we were delivering our first stage, Walker awarded Outside Ideas the Riverlea Stages 1B, 2, 3, and 6B as one package of works. This was a landscaping and irrigation package to residential housing verge fronts, as well as one small reserve, that was completed in mid-2023.
Outside Ideas was then awarded Riverlea Stage 7 Streetscape and Park in late 2023. The streetscape component was again a landscaping and irrigation contract for more residential verges. The park component was Kapinka Reserve, located within the heart of Stage 7, a larger and more impressive park and playground than what was delivered as part of Stage 2. The reserve incorporates furniture and fitness equipment, play equipment and softfall, irrigated instant turf, nature play, shelters and BBQs.
The Riverlea Drainage Channel project following the successful delivery of Stage 7. The scope included the civil and landscaping works to beautify a one-kilometre stretch of the existing drainage channel. Concrete and asphalt pavements were installed, as well as a pedestrian footbridge and several rock crossings to create safe access across the channel. The channel was de-watered to enable the works to be completed. Plants were installed across the entire footprint of the site, including to the basin and batters of the channel. Work on the drainage channel beautification was completed in July 2025.
Outside Ideas was then awarded the Riverlea Sports Precinct contract in 2026, adjacent to the Xavier College Riverlea campus we are also delivering for Mossop Construction + Interior. Work commenced on site in mid-2026. The scope includes bulk earthworks, major stormwater works, electrical, hydraulics, sportsfield construction, concrete pavements, custom shelters and sheds, furniture, sports lighting, carpark construction, soft landscaping, irrigation, and WSUD gardens.
