In 2024, Outside Ideas was engaged by Kane Constructions to deliver the hard and soft landscaping packages for the Homes Victoria public housing development on Elizabeth Street in North Richmond.

Outside Ideas delivered wet lay brick paving, concrete pavements, custom timber furniture, steel edging, play equipment, and a 30 square metre by 3.2-metre-deep tree planting void stretching from the podium on level one down to level ground in the basement.

Part of the project was delivered on a podium that spans between three towers, built on a suspended slab above an underground carpark and basement. This presented challenges when importing materials to site: lightweight soil was blown into place, construction methodologies were adapted to meet weight restrictions on top of the podium, and materials were brought up to site before they were required. Waterproofing was a key consideration on this project to protect the basement and carpark beneath the suspended slab. This is the fourth public housing project that Outside Ideas has delivered within the past year.
