The redevelopment of the Tusmore Park Wading Pool and surrounds commenced in late 2021. As head contractor, Outside Ideas completed the civil, landscaping and concrete packages. The scope of work included the demolition and reconstruction of the existing wading pool, construction of a new plant and equipment shed, plus surrounding hard and soft landscaping.

As the existing pool was heritage-listed, Outside Ideas worked strategically to honour the original shape of the pool, while adding a new ‘creek’-style swimming section as specified by the architect. With the site positioned next to a natural waterway, our team spent time protecting the surrounding environment during construction. New water play areas were constructed with added fencing and shade to ensure the park is safe and accessible for all members of the community.

Outside Ideas carefully managed noise pollution throughout the construction programme to limit disturbances to the surrounding residents, while navigating tight access for materials, the diversion of public foot traffic around the site, and the management of key subcontractors to ensure the project timelines could be met.
