In 2016 Outside Ideas was awarded the contract for the Goodwood Road Street Upgrade by the Unley City Council. Given the busy nature of this arterial road, Outside Ideas staged construction to minimise delays and inconvenience, working with council and stakeholders to devise a plan that would still ensure the timely delivery of this project. This included some night works in critical areas. Our in-house stakeholder management was a key element to the success of this project.

After SA Power Networks undergrounded the powerlines, we commenced the staged demolition of all concrete kerbing and paved footpaths. This included the installation of new kerbing and concrete ancillaries, supply and lay of 3,400 square metres of custom council pavers, and the construction of new raised crossings to street intersections, which allowed the footpath to continue without stepping down onto the road.

The project also included lighting and electrical, irrigation to custom planter boxes and the installation of street furniture.

The upgrade was completed in 25 weeks and has received positive feedback from the community.
